Follow us to Walt Disney World
Originally released theatrically in the United Kingdom, "Follow US to Walt Disney World" is unique among Disney travelogues for many reasons not only as an exquisitely produced encapsulation of The World as it existed in 1984 but also for its Cast Member-focused framing of the WDW resort. Although occasionally over-sentimental, this presentation perfectly depicts the guest-centered ethos of the experience while never crossing over into the rather disingenuous use of the Speilberg Face so commonly used in most modern marketing campaigns. In this one, you definitely see what people are responding to with a fluid and fast-paced editing style that gives the viewer a tantalizing taste of the many things the teenaged WDW had to offer with much more sophistication than one could expect from the 50-year-old resort today.
Stabilized and color-corrected from a 16mm print with an enhanced stereophonic soundtrack. Also featured is the original presentation, stabilized without color correction with monoaural sound.
Statistics:
— 128,528 frames stabilized (Over 50% had to be done manually)
— Each of the 608 shots where individually color-corrected.
— The soundtrack was noise reduced & stereo-imaged from a separate mono source.
— 56 cuts were used to resynchronize the audio to adjust for time dilation.
