Dedicating Spaceship Earth
After more than 16 years of development and construction, EPCOT Center "The Newest Wonder of the World" became a reality on October 1st, 1982.
Beginning a month of ceremonies for the park was the dedication of the architecturally miraculous Spaceship Earth featuring impressive pomp & circumstance. From the Future Corps supplemented by a full orchestra to the avant-garde choreography of the Showtime Singers, the Center started the 21st Century in style.
The following 1st generation BETA tape features the entire Dedication including the premiere performance of EPCOT Center's theme: "We've just Begun to Dream", Speeches by Walt Disney Productions CEO Card Walker, Florida Governor Bob Graham and AT&T President Bill Ellinghaus with an enhanced soundtrack.
