Laserphonic Fantasy Premieres
A groundbreaking nighttime extravaganza, Laserphonic Fantasy showcased a mesmerizing combination of lasers, music, and special effects. This 3rd spectacular created for World Showcase, was the first able to be viewed from all around the lagoon, as well as the debut of the four “Maxi” barges comprised of fountains, water screens and pyrotechnic launching platforms, and the Laser barge centerpiece featuring a fiber optic projection sphere.
The show was developed as a successor to “New World Fantasy” and which opened a year earlier in 1983 with both shows featuring a synthesized soundtrack arranged by composer and legendary Walt Disney Entertainment producer, Don Dorsey.
