LINER NOTES
1. LISTEN TO THE LAND (EPCOT ’94 EDITION)
As conceived by composer Russell Brower, the original Innoventions atmosphere was over twice as long with multiple
themes alluding to EPCOT Center’s past. A medley of Listen to the Land and its derivative Symphony of the Seed serves as the backdrop for the multiple changes in tone and aesthetics for the pavilion’s second and third incarnations.
SUNSHINE SEASON FOOD FAIR
2. WEATHER BALLOONS
1993 was a time of dramatic change for The Land. As the first pavilion to be revitalized, its transformation was eased
by a consistent musical atmosphere. Though walls had been repainted, carpets refreshed and attractions replaced, the
one thing that anchored the present with the past was the soft instrumentations of the sun and moon.
FOOD ROCKS
3. CONCERT LOBBY
Passing under a concert rigging marquee, adorned with moving spotlights, we enter the concert lobby, featuring sharp angular designs. The walls are covered with facts and stories about nutrition through-out history. While waiting for the concert to begin, we are serenaded by instrumentally focused songs, ranging from Mason Williams to Santana.
4. FOOD ROCKS
The benefit concert for good nutrition, that focused on the balance diet provided by the food pyramid. Hosted by MC Fud Wrapper and featuring the vocal stylings of The Peach Boys, Pita Gabriel, and the Get-to-the-Point Sisters, the concert contains popular songs with a nutritional twist.
LIVING WITH THE LAND
5. LIVING WITH THE LAND (THE E82 VOYAGE)
Set sail on a cruise that takes you through a tropical rain forest, and the American desert, Prairie, and the farms of yesteryear. Then continue on to discover the latest developments in aquaculture, hydroponics, and get a first-hand look at experimental greenhouse methods.
SUNSHINE SEASONS
6. ARCHITECTURAL FOREST
The soft sound of birds chirping provides a welcoming atmosphere to Sunshine Seasons. The free-flowing food court
is appropriately divided into four sections: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Each area is accented by large, lighted, aluminum trees. The relaxing surroundings are further reinforced by the contemplative arrangement of beautiful music scores.
SOARIN’
7. CONCOURSE SKYWAY
The Futuristic meets the transcendent; where the romance of early air travel and the technologies of today combine to
create an atmosphere designed to set the eyes skyward. Highly-polished wood and metals accented by decorative nuts
and bolts all reinforce the idea of flight. The space is filled with an appropriately soaring suite of over 40 stirring
musical themes.
8. PREFLIGHT
Before boarding your flight, anticipation builds in a darkened industrial hangar accented by cobalt blue lights. The
lights blink in preparation for the flight that awaits us, as the soft and melodic chords of the Soarin’ theme gently hint
at the experience to come.
9. SOARIN’ OVER CALIFORNIA
From the Gold Coast to Napa Valley; from Yosemite National Park to Monterey Bay , Soarin’ Over California flies
through some of the most dramatic, picturesque and moving environments of the Golden State, which are interwoven
together by Jerry Goldsmith’s magnificently uplifting score.
10. FUTURE WORLD SOUNDTRACK SERIES (MAIN THEME)
Starting from the digital frontier of TRON then expanding into the entire Universe of Energy, the Future World
Soundtrack Series theme encompasses some of the most iconic and impactful themes in the history of the park.
