Soarin' Around the World Opens

Debuting on May 5th, 2005 as part of Disneyland’s global 50th-anniversary celebration, Soarin’ opened with a woefully inadequate capacity to meet its overwhelming popularity, and the film “Soarin’ over California” — perfectly fine in its original setting of Disney’s California Adventure it was thematically awkward in the internationally focused Epcot.

Over a decade later in 2016 both of these peculiarities would finally be fixed with the addition of a 3rd theater and the premiere of “Soarin’ Around the World” now featuring an appropriately global itinerary and a custom Epcot finale. Additionally, the redesigned queue space now featured calm blue lighting and sound-absorbent carpet to psychologically relieve the tension often experienced in the once highly-stressful queue.
