The American Adventure Continues
Catching up on the last 14 years of United States History since its massive 1992 refurbishment, The American Adventure reopens with an amended finale just shortly before Independence Day.
This update expands the climatic Golden Dream sequence by over 21% (45-seconds) to include tragedies such as 9/11, and tributes to the NYC Fire & Police departments as well as special appearances by Steve Jobs, George Lucas, Jim Henson, Peter Jennings, George W Bush, Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Yo Yo Ma, Frank Gehry, & Lance Armstrong. The sequence now concluded with a new CG flyover of New York, the Statue of Liberty, and a fireworks display before the epilogue with Ben Franklin and Mark Twain.
This version retained the 1992 arrangement of Golden Dream featuring Richard Page and Siedah Garrett.
Interestingly, Ms. Garrett is best known for her duet performance with Michael Jackson for “I Just Can't Stop Loving You” and most importantly co-writing the (very EPCOT centered) “Man in the Mirror”.
This version of the Golden Dream song can be heard as part of the American Adventure “Experience Mix” on Musical History of EPCOT Center or right here:
